Now Accepting Book Articles Did you or someone in your family work at one of the Greene County Stoneware Plants? Have pictures or stories about the stoneware industry? We want to hear from you!
We are currently compiling out annual fall book, and this year as you may have guessed is about the stoneware industry of Greene County.
We are currently looking for articles to include in our history booklet to be sold during the event in September.

Pottery Display Planned This years Quilted program will include everything stoneware. From jugs, crocks, bowls and butter churns to even barns and silos constructed of the same famous clay products. We are planning on a Greene County Days stoneware display in a very secure location. Jugs, a 2010 celebration of the stoneware industry of Greene County Illinois, will be an extension of the IVCHA quilted trail. This celebration will culminate with a Quilted Trail Guide book dedicated to the history of the Greene County Stoneware Industry and a Quilted Trail of Barns and or silos made of White Hall vitrified stoneware tile. |

Book Ads on Sale Now On the heels of a very successful edition, we are gearing up to make this year’s fifth anniversary book even better. Each book has focused on a different historic topic related to our local area. “Project Porthole” introduced our Quilted program to Greene County and our next installment “Jugs” will expand on this popular event This year will incorporate additional quilt blocks on farming structures made of or attributed to clay products made right here in White Hall. The quilted program reaches thousands of people and presents a very unique advertising opportunity for local business owners. As well as being able to purchase ad space in our book, you also can sponsor a quilt and be included in all publications and publicity around the state. As always, IVCHA is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and your contribution is completely tax deductible. Booth Space Available Illinois Valley Cultural Heritage Association Greene County Days 2010 Event, Jugs will include a quilted barn trail, crafts, flea markets, food, and entertainment. Celebrating its 26th year Greene County Days is a three day event the weekend after Labor Day annually. Greene County is 60 miles southwest of Springfield, IL 35 miles north of Alton IL, 30 miles south of Jacksonville IL. Jugs will be a celebration of the stoneware industry of Greene County, by example the Sewer Pipe and Stoneware Plant and the AD Ruckel’s White Hall Pottery Works of White Hall, Illinois.
